For the fourth consecutive year, Carnival Cruise Line has been named “America’s Most Trusted Cruise Line” by Reader’s Digest, a Trusted Media Brands, Inc., (TMBI) company and one of the country’s largest and most respected media brands.

The Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Survey® is an independent, online survey conducted in partnership with Ipsos Connect. This year’s survey polled 5,500 Americans nationwide who were asked to rate products they trust across 40 different categories in areas such as quality, value and reliability. Carnival received more votes than any other cruise line.

The full list of Reader’s Digest Trusted brands is available on RD.com and can be found in the publication’s June 2018 issue which goes on sale today.

“We take great pride in our distinction as America’s Cruise Line so being named Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Cruise Line for four years running is very gratifying and reaffirms our commitment to delivering our brand promise of providing fun, memorable vacations at a great value,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.  “This award is shared by our 40,000 dedicated employees both on board and ashore, who are truly the reason for our success,” she added.

Carnival is continually updating and enhancing its onboard experience to meet the ever-changing needs of its guests.  The line’s newest ship, Carnival Horizon, which debuted in April, is a perfect example with innovations like the first-ever Dr. Seuss-themed water park – part of the line’s exclusively partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises – as well as the Smokehouse Brewhouse with barbecue favorites created by Food Network star and longtime Carnival partner Guy Fieri along with four craft beers brewed on board.

Cruise CompeteThe line has expanded its itinerary choices to include day-long and overnight calls in Havana, Cuba, with Carnival Paradise, Carnival Sensation, Carnival Victory, Carnival Triumph and Carnival Sunshine offering three- to eight-day voyages that visit the historic capital.

Carnival has also invested hundreds of millions of dollars in its ongoing ship refurbishment program that has added a wide variety of popular food, beverage, entertainment, and activity choices across the fleet which appeal to its multi-generational customer base.

Continuing in its desire to be a good corporate citizen, Carnival and its employees support a broad range of philanthropic organizations.  These include raising more than $16 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the fight against childhood cancer and partnering with Operation Homefront on events and activities that fulfill the organization’s mission of building strong, stable and secure military families. Last week, Carnival Corporation was named for the third year in a row as one of the top 100 corporate citizens in the U.S. by Corporate Responsibility magazine.

Planning the Ideal Break on Dry Land

Backpacking Outdoors

When people think of cruises, they think of tropical destinations and warm weather. Though this certainly accounts for many cruises, it is definitely not all of them. Just as you can cruise through the Mediterranean, so too can you enjoy the artic or even traverse along Antarctica. The weather might be colder, but the views will be just as stunning up north as they are along the equator. Not only that, but the type of traveler on these cruises changes as well. From those on holiday to those on an adventure, your northward adventures can take you to some of the most remote places on earth.

They also offer you the opportunity to experience new and exciting adventures on dry land. It doesn’t matter whether you want to continue the journey after your cruise or have one before, you should take the opportunity to extend your trip onto dry land:

Experience the Wilderness

When you have the opportunity to explore the wilderness, you have to take advantage of it. Just because you are in a remote location, however, does not mean that you cannot enjoy it in style. Cabin rentals are the perfect way to enjoy your adventure before or after your cruise not just because they off your more choice, but because they allow you to live amongst and in harmony with nature. Cabins are not utilitarian, either – there are as many luxurious cabins as there are budget ones, meaning you can find the perfect place to set up camp while you enjoy hiking, swimming, biking, fishing, and all the enjoyment of the wilderness.

Being Prepared

Of course, when your goal is to adventure into the great outdoors, you will need to pack accordingly. Even though not every hike will require a tent and a camp set, they will require you to be prepared in other ways. You should never go out onto any hike without water and provisions, for instance, and many national parks might even require you to pay for a park pass as well as parking – money which goes into maintaining the trails and paying park rangers. Other ways you will want to prepare is to bring bug spray, comfortable (and broken into) shoes, and a camera.

Extreme Adventures You Should Try

What you can do will depend on where you stay and what part of the world you are in, but generally speaking there should be tour guides and adventure operators that can help you make the most of your trip on dry land. This could include white water rafting, skiing, mountaineering, horseback riding, and so much more. You need to get out there and see what is available.

Adventure should never be limited. If you love cruises but want to try something different, try a different region to enjoy. Combine that with an outdoor adventure to get you into the spirit of the wilderness and you will be certain to have an unforgettable time traveling through one of the more remote places on earth.

The young family has firsthand expertise on the distinct combination of high-energy experiences only found on Royal Caribbean, having celebrated a number of milestones on the award-winning Oasis Class ships, including getting engaged on Oasis of the Seas and spending their babymoon on Allure of the Seas. Royal Caribbean’s nearly 25-year relationship with Carlos began on his first cruise when he was just 4 years old, only to be beat by son Ocean, who sailed for the first time at 13 months.  The newest ship to join the Royal Caribbean fleet, Symphony of the Seas redefines how guests of all ages stay and play, delivering the ultimate family adventure. The PenaVegas are globetrotters who inspire families as they explore and open themselves to a variety of the world’s most exciting cultures, foods and experiences.
