Carnival Sunshine Delayed a Day as Nor’easter Shortens Next Norfolk Cruise

Carnival Cruise Line has told guests booked on Carnival Sunshine’s September 27 departure from Norfolk that the ship will now return Monday, September 28 — one day late — as the line routes the vessel farther offshore to avoid the worst of the powerful East Coast nor’easter.

According to Carnival guest communications reported September 26 by Cruise Hive, the ship has reduced speed and adjusted course toward calmer waters. The delay means the next cruise will be shortened from six nights to five nights and operate a modified Bahamas itinerary. Carnival said it was revising the port schedule and planned another guest update by noon September 26. Cruise Hive

The current eight-night Canada cruise departed Norfolk September 19. Carnival’s published deployment confirms Sunshine operates Canada, Bahamas and other itineraries from Norfolk.
