These Cruise Ships Earned a Perfect 100 From CDC Inspectors

The CDC’s rolling Vessel Sanitation Program data shows a wide range of major cruise ships earning the highest possible inspection score, including vessels from Royal Caribbean, Disney, Norwegian, Celebrity, Carnival, Viking and more.

Cruise travelers who pay close attention to ship cleanliness have plenty of strong performers to choose from, according to the latest U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention inspection data.

The CDC’s Vessel Sanitation Program maintains a rolling 12-month list of cruise ships that have earned a perfect score of 100 during unannounced sanitation inspections. The current list includes ships from many of the industry’s biggest brands, ranging from large contemporary vessels to luxury and expedition ships.

Among the notable 2026 perfect-score ships listed by the CDC are Star of the Seas, Icon of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, Quantum of the Seas and Grandeur of the Seas from Royal Caribbean; Disney Dream, Disney Magic and Disney Treasure; Norwegian Luna, Norwegian Viva and Norwegian Bliss; Celebrity Xcel, Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Beyond; Carnival Celebration, Carnival Jubilee and Carnival Legend; Viking Polaris; Oceania Riviera; Seven Seas Explorer; Queen Elizabeth; Resilient Lady; and Valiant Lady.

The CDC’s rolling list also includes several ships that earned 100 scores during late 2025, since the agency’s perfect-score report covers the most recent 12 months rather than the calendar year alone.

Vessel Sanitation Program inspections are conducted without advance notice on ships in CDC jurisdiction. Inspectors examine areas and procedures tied to public health, including food storage and preparation, potable water systems, pools and spas, medical reporting, housekeeping and sanitation practices.

A perfect 100 does not necessarily mean inspectors found no individual issues. CDC inspection reports can still record deficiencies while a ship finishes with the highest possible score after the agency’s scoring methodology is applied. Disney Destiny, for example, earned a 100 in June 2026 even though its detailed inspection report documented items requiring attention.

For passengers, inspection scores are best viewed as a snapshot of conditions and procedures observed on a specific inspection date rather than a guarantee of future conditions. Even so, a perfect score remains a noteworthy benchmark, especially when a ship or cruise line earns repeated high marks across multiple inspections.

Cruise Addicts recently reported on Disney Destiny improving from a 96 on its first inspection to a perfect 100 in June 2026. At the other end of the spectrum, recent coverage has also highlighted ships landing close to the CDC’s minimum satisfactory threshold, underscoring how much scores can vary from vessel to vessel.
