Hello All,
We're new to this web site, although we've cruised once every year for the past 6 years. I guess that makes us semi-pros, even though we're still learning all of the ropes of cruisin'.
This will be our first RCCL cruise, we've always sailed either Celebrity or HAL. Last year was the first year we ventured on shore excursions on our own, not taking the ship's tours. We did well in all ports, met great people, and had a wonderful experience. We would like to do the same on this cruise. I'm trying to put together a group of 10 people, we are 4 (2 couples) for an excursion that I have outlined as follows:
We are sailing on Explorer of the Seas on 12/12/08, from Cape Liberty in NJ, 9 days. I'm looking for others who may be interested in an excursion offered by Casa Dorado in Dominican Republic to Playa Rincon, as detailed in the info below. If you are interested, please email me at hwe663@msn.com.
Dear Henry,
Thank you for your interest in Casa Dorado!! Below is the info on our excursions from Las Galeras beach. All prices are based on up to 10 people, not per person.
Playa Rincon Excursion - Conde Nast Traveler ranked this beach as one of the world's 10 best. It's so splendid, in fact, that many Dominicans refer to it as the most beautiful on the island. Over three miles long, Playa Rincon is surrounded by coconut palms and almond trees, not to mention a 2,000 foot mountain on one end. The best way to get to this isolated beach is by boat; a ride that is definitely worth it. Round-trip boat ride from Las Galeras main beach to Playa Rincon is $160 for up to 10 people. There are several small restaurants on Playa Rincon, where you can order a fish, lobster or chicken lunch.
We are located in Las Galeras, which is 18 miles from Samana. We can reserve a taxi that will be waiting for you on the Samana boat Dock and will bring you straight to Las Galeras main beach and return you at your leisure. The taxi is $100 for up to 10 people. The taxi is a large van/small bus that easily fits 10 passengers.
Lunch is not included in any of these prices, but they run $10-18 per person. Let me know if you have any questions.

If anyone is interested, please reach me by email, hwe663@msn.com, as I don't check this site as frequently as I do my email. If we can get 3 more couples to join us, it would be great. If there are more couples that want to go, then we can possibly arrange for a 2nd group of 10 - I would have to check with the tour operator. Please note that I am not associated with them, I'm a fellow cruiser who happenned to find their site online and have read severals reviews of them from other cruisers.
I am also trying to put together some other excursions in the other ports we visit. We've been to St Thomas numerous times, and are not looking for a shopping or walking in town expedition, but would like to spend the day, or part of it, on a nice beach. I'll let you know what I come up with.
Hope to hear from some of you soon, and hope to meet ALL of you on board. We are Henry and Sheila, and Tom and Joyce, from the Atlantic City area.
