Hello

We are planning our first cruise for the last week in October 2004. We don't know whether to go for the 7 day Disney o Princess (Caribbean Princess) 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise.

We have 2 sons (ages 8 and 10). They are really past all the Disney stuff right now and think it is babyish (to my disappointmen). None of us has ever cruised before and I am a little nervous about someone getting seasick . We would like a ship with fun pools, family (age-appropriate) activities and good food. We like to dress casual (jeans/shorts). But, my biggest concern with the Disney ship is will the boys be turned off by the entertainment if it is character related.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

The Grand Class Princess Ships.....not been on it but all the kid reviews get great talk seem to be up your alley...The kids center seem to have tons of stuff...The pools are nice and the reviews from what I've seen make it very family friendly...Good luck with your choices...I've been on 4 Princess cruises..we do not bring our children..they are older and travel to islands to do all-inclusives so far!!!and we adore Princess!!!...Joanne

Definitely go with the Car. Princess. Disney will offer you lots of photo ops with Pluto and Mickey and they will charge you hundreds of dollars more for the privilege.

We have sailed on the Disney Magic with our 3 kids, two are teens and 1 was 11years old. It was a great cruise. They do families very well, the staff definitely knows how to handle kids and keeps them very entertained. We never felt overrun with Disney characters. Great cabins, food and service. We would highly recommend it to anyone, with or without kids. We have sailed on RCCL, Carnival, Princess and Disney. Disney is very classy, yet very family friendly. You would not regret sailing on it.

Depends how much you want to spend. Both are decent products, one cost alot more than the other, quite frankly since I think your kids will like Princess, I'd save the money and use it on a neat shore excursion( like the stingrays or dolpin snorkle)
