Hi! this is my first post although I read often. We just booked a 5 day over Thaksgiving cruise in the Splendour of the Seas. We have sailed on the Rhapsody 4 times but this is our first time on the Splendour. We booked an aft cabin (our favorite)...would love to glean as much info as possible about the Splendour. Would you please share your favotite place on the ship? and why, favorite foods, spa choices, etc We have been to Cozumel and Costa Maya several times and will probably merely get off after breakfast and walk around a bit...UNLESS there is something special that we perhaps haven't seen or done at either stop...so please share your favorite places and things to do/see at these ports. Thanks for your responses not only to these questions but to the many you answer on a daily basis.

Can't comment on Splendor because I have never been on her.

If you like to snorkel and feel adventureous Susan and I found an interesting spot in Cozumel a few weeks ago. It is called Playa Corona. It is a $5 cab ride from International Pier. Basically it is an out of the way beach bar / restaurant. It is kind of old and weather-beaten but it had character. You pay $5 for the use of the facilities, (shower and a table) and you can snorkel right off the beach in water that is waist to chest deep. Lots of fish and new coral there. It was some of the best off the beach snorkeling we have seen. There were only two or three other couples there so it was very un crowded and quiet. This is not a place for people who have to have fancy or upscale but we really enjoyed it. It was a nice shore excursion that cost us $15 for the whole morning...not bad.

We have been on Splendour twice, but it's been a few years. 1996 in the Med. and 2000 as a repo. Barcelona to London. both 12 night cruises. We love it. I'm sure you will also........
