2 Excursions in 1 Day = Bad Idea?

I have scheduled a day on a hideaway island and then we will return. Then 45 minutes later we will head back to that island for rhythms of the night dinner. Is this a mistake? I want to do both so badly! Since I did book these through my cruise, will they make sure we will be back on time?

IMO, yes. Most tours line up on the pier about 1/2 hr. before the start time. That would give you 15 mins. spare time. Mexico does not run on "American time". It's rare that the tours there are exactly punctual. It's very, very common for them to run late.

That said, you'll have a little bit better chance making both of them since they're independent tours, but is it worth the stress? You'd REALLY be cutting it close and I think you'd be sorry you tried to do too much.

We've found that once we're on the ship, something comes over us and we're never as gung-ho as we thought we'd be. I'd choose one of them and do that instead of hoping that absolutely nothing went wrong on the first tour to slow it down. JMHO.

Thanks for your response! And I love that picture too. Wish I was there right now.

By the way, which one would you do if you had the opportunity?

A Las Caletas Hideaway beach excursion during the day?

Or the Las Caletas 'Rhythms of the Night' dinner in the evening?

I'm sad I can't do both but I need some help picking one!! :)

If it were up to me, I'd pick the beach exursion. I LOVE Mexico, and I love the beaches there. I haven't been to Las Caletas, but I've heard it's awesome. Plus, the dinner experience on the ship is such an experience! :)

:thumb Jessiepoo, if you are truly motivated you can do two in one day. We even managed 3 while on our cruise in the South Pacific. I knew it was going to be tough. I knew there would be no time to return to the ship between the first two, and very little time between the second and third. So we dressed for the first two in the morning and had everything laid out and ready to go for the third. We just didn't want to miss out. It was very busy and now with it all done my husband says he wouldn't do it again - but when I ask him which he would leave out he grins and says none of them. By the way - we did a 4x4 in the morning (3 1/2 hours), a classic sail in the afternoon (3 hrs) and a sunset barbecue in the evening(3 hrs).

Bottom line is it can be done, you just have to be very organised.

I agree with Lizardstew and L.J. Have dinner on the ship. To me that's an important part of the cruise experience. Just my =twocents
