In 2004, their 7-night Eastern Caribbean itineraries will ADD Nassau to their already scheduled ports of call, with one less sea day.

Thanks, Mary Ann. I think that's great. We like Nassau.

Would you mind posting the order of the ports? Thank you.

If it's on the HAL site already, I'll go there to look to save you doing the posting.

Thanks MaryAnn. Love those relaxing sea days, sorry to see they've added a port instead.

Thanks, Maven.

The short Oosterdam/Westerdam stop in Nassau is worth little. When the ship gets in so early, nothing is open and few want to be on the beach at 7:30 A.M. And then to have to be back on board so early.....not much you can do there.

What could possibly b e the reason for adding Nassau. I don't imagine we will bother to get off. The shopping leaves a lot to be desired. Hubby has never been ,so if nice day we may walk from ship to beach at the Hilton.

I've been trying to imagine the reason, Mortgage Chick. We do like Nassau and usually enjoy our stops there....if there is adequate time to actually do something. Such a short stop, however, so early in the morning precludes most activities.

There surely is a REASON for adding this stop, but it would only be speculation to guess it has something to do with request of Bahamian Government.....in relation to their happy relations at HMC???

Hi -- first time poster here, although I have been reading the boards for along time. Your newsflash about adding Nassau sent me to the HAL site. It says there HAL added Freeport. At least for my cruise in March 20, 2004 -- Oh boy is THAT a long way off? I didn't find mention of Nassau.

Anyway, has anyone been to Freeport? I had been to Nassau twice once on a Sunday and once on a holiday. Almost everything was closed. Would like to visit a city in the Bahamas when their shops are open.

Funny thing happened to me just after posting previous message. Dropped the HAL page down only slightly and behold the Zuiderdam going to Nassau. Amazing! Guess I was just so excited about Freeport didn't check the rest of the page out. (this might be why I don't post)

Deej - please don't be embarrassed or hesitant to post. Trust me - we ALL (and I'm certainly including myself) post things only to find we either made a typo, or the information we've been given has changed, was incorrect, etc.

Now...for those wondering why HAL added Nassau and reduced the number of days at sea, I don't know at this point. I merely passed along information as we received it from HAL. Some people enjoy Nassau, others yawn, and still others dislike the place. But the same can be said of other islands as well. You'll please some, and disappoint others!

Deej....Don't even think twice about ever making a misstatement here. WE ALL do it from time to time. We welcome all conversation about our favorite subject....cruising and cruising HAL in particular.

Please post often.... We enjoy all messages cruisers wish to share with us. :) (well.....Most of them :) )

The 7 night Easter Caribbean Zuiderdam sailing have Nassau as a port in 2003. That is not a change. Not sure what it is a change from.

ashuma...

Originally, Westerdam and Oosterdam were not scheduled to stop at Nassau but Zuiderdam was. Now all three are stopping there.

S7S, What is exciting in Nassau that you enjoy and look forward
to? We went to a nice beach the one time we were there...after
I went parasailing and was crashed into the floating dock.
I was thinking of taking a cab to the Atlantis to see what that is
about. Could we better spend our time elsewhere on the island?
Looking forward to meeting that mystery person and her spice
aboard ship soon.
