If you have a day or two, take a tour. Also, you have to walk the Las Ramblas and look at what goes on there. It is GREAT. Check out the "statues" on Las Ramblas, they accept donations. Trust me on this... We were in Barcelona in 2001 and loved it. Very safe, bustling at times. People eating dinner in the sidewalk cafes at midnight. ENJOY!

Thank you for your reply. Iam looking forward to it! I'm also going to visit Rome and Pompeii, Sorrento etc and the last trip is Venice. I've been there before and loved it! I've been told that 'once you've experienced the cruises, you won't want to use hotels again'!

What you've heard is true. We did the Med 6/01on Celebrity - Millennium. Istanbul to Barcelona, with the Pyramids, thrown in. Turkey, Egypt, Greece, Italy France and Spain. You'll love it.
