3-Night Majesty - Deck 8

My wife and I will be sailing on the 3-night Majesty cruise in September (a quick anniversary trip away from the kids!). I booked stateroom 8508 and while I could spend the extra $20 and move down to deck 2 I am thinking that deck 8 is a little more centrally located. Plus I also read that on Monarch room 8508 wasn’t that “obscuredâ€Â. They are sister ships and should be the same, correct?

I’m wondering if anyone has experience with or an opinion on this room and deck 8 as well as "reviews" of the 3-night Majesty Cruise.

We've done the 3-night Majesty twice, most recently this past March. Great ship, especially since they've done the refurb this year. As far as the obstructed views, I personally didn't care for those, but I didn't have an obstructed view, I had a straight OV. I didn't care for it because someone could be sitting right outside your room in a lounge chair reading or whatever, and I didn't like that.

Then again, it's only three days, so who cares, right? All in all, you'll have a great time!

Most staterooms on deck 8 on the Majesty have obstructed views. If you go on their website - do a mock booking - and look at deck 8, you'll see (obstructed view) underneath all the Deck 8 staterooms. To take the mystery out and be sure ---- call RCCL and ask.
To take the mystery out and be sure ---- call RCCL and ask.
Not to be rude or anything, but hahahah. We know more than they do,esp when it comes to details such as this topic......

Cabins 832-8538 and 8032 thru 8038 are not obstructed at all.........they are between the lifeboats.....

To the OP.I did do a review but that site is down right now........heres some pics of the MJ and CocoCay I took in March..click on to open up..

Nice timing, I spent my lunch hour looking at your photos (before you even told me about them!) and was able to switch to room 8034 on Monday night.

You got it right when you said "we know more than them" - these boards and the people on them really are a great resource.

Thanks again.

I'm glad to have the info. on the Majesty. From looking at the deck plans and talking to the agents, I was sure all staterooms would be obstructed views. I just changed our stateroom from deck 7 to 8.

Thanks!

Good choice Libby......cuz even if you did get an obstructed cabin on deck 8, its better than being on deck 7 where everyone can walk right past your window and look in...
