Does anyone know if one of the local buses will take you from Hamilton to the Royal Naval Dockyard?

What is everyone doing on this voyage? Are you taking ship's tours or going off on your own?

I have been to Bermuda several times. There is a Ferry that is a nice trip back and forth from Hamilton to the Dockyard. You will be at the Dockyard for the better part of a day so I would spend the time you have in St. George and Hamilton wisely. St. George has a Festival the night you are docked there. Be sure to attend. Lots of local culture and custom. The Ultimate water tour is very good. I did it and it gives you a great look at the island from a small boat. If you are into historic sites, take the Fort St. Katherine Bus Tour. Also make good time to walk though the town. Hamilton also has a street Festival the night you are there. Again it is well worth the time. And it concludes with a grand parade with bagpipes and all. A carraige ride is a good way to see Hamilton. Loads of ways to get to the beaches if that is your thing. Not much at the dockyard---shops and glass blowing. Hope that helps. Would like you impression of the ship.

tick1946,

Thanks for the info!

Just a few questions...

What time do the festivals start in St. George and Hamilton?

Is there a bus route that will take us around the island to some of the famous hotels from Hamilton to the Royal Naval Dockyard?

Have you done the Dolphin Quest at the Royal Naval Dockyard? Is it different from the one at the located at the Princess Hotel in Hamilton?

As far as the N. Crown, we were on it before Freestyle so I am curious to see the changes that were made on her.

Thanks again.

I belive the Festivals start around 7 PM.
Harbour Nights in Hamilton(on Wednesdays) and (on Tuesdays) Market Nights in St. George's.
There are several Bus routes, but I have never taken them---I have used the Taxi's(vans) to get around and the ferry, but I have traveled with folks who only use the buses.
Never done the Dolphin Quest---I understand that it was at the Hotel for a while while the Dock Yard was refurbished. Folks have said it was over priced for what you get. But that is in the eye of the beholder.
Here are several links that are very informative:

Bermuda is my favorite destination. My wife and I just love it there.

I did not go to Bermuda this year because of all the bad press that I saw about the Crown. They ahd at least 2 voyages with Engine problems--one they were adrift for a couple of hours on the way back to NYC and the other they had to fly passengers home from Bermuda. I will be very interested in your comments. It is the only ship that does all three ports and is in the right port for the respective festivals.

I hope you have a terrific time---we have always enjoyed ours---never had a bad one.
