Amazing, and Einstein and Red are just around the corner over there. Luckily quakes originating underwater do not cause much damage!

That's horrible.

I think the Emerald Princess is heading towards St. Lucia. I just read this....

St. Lucia resident Annie Ellis said the quake was the strongest she has experienced. "In all my years, I have never felt any earthquake so powerful," said the 100-year-old Ellis. "And it lasted such a long time."

Scary, to say the least!

Judi, yes the Emerald Princess is heading to St. Lucia. Agree, very scary moment for the folks in the Carribean.

I was reading this last night on Earthlink. This morning the news reported one death but didn't say where. Scary that something this strong would hit the islands where construction isn't what it is here in the states.

Yup the island of Antigua did indeed feel ity. We were at Devils Bridge at that time and red swore she felt the Rock bridge under her move. Guess it did. When we returned to town the locals were quite shocked indeed. I also was talking to staff last night and some of the dive stopes for today were calcelled due to a collapse of one of the main dive shacks.

I went on the Emerald this year and grandson works on it. We had a ball and he was allowed to be with us quite often even trips ashore. It was fabulous.

I just returned from Emerald Princess today. I was at the Terrace pool in the aft section of the ship. It bounced up and down for about 20-30 seconds. We thought it was the engine starting up - it was around 3pm or so, thus we were puzzled. A maintenance worker peered over the edge of the ship and walked away, not appearing to be concerned.
BTW.........the cruise was awesome. I have to admit that I didn't like the ship at first, but I ended up really liking it. This was my 16th Princess Cruise.

Best,
Mike
