8/24 Legend Review

AAAUUGH! I was so excited to travel on the Legend until I read this awful review! I know how some reviewers seem negative and nit-picky, so I try to read these with an open mind, BUT--this one pointed to such horrible customer service that I was appalled! Did anyone else take this Legend cruise? I know the boat is new--but really, the staff make the trip. Help me out, Legend travellers--before I go AWOL!

I haven't been on the Legend yet -- scheduled to cruise on her in February 2004. But I have cruised on CCL 4 times before and LOVED it!!! I am not worried even though the review seems to have some very legit complaints. I have had the food and have LOVED it -- even the chateaubriand. Try not to worry... I'm not going to! :)

I went on the Legend last Dec. and had a great time.
I had very good service in the diningroom. My waiter was excellent and so was busboy.
My cabin steward was also very helpful, he took out the items from the refrigerator so I could put some of my cold sodas in it. My room service, which I used often came on time each morning and the coffee was nice and hot. All in all, service on the Legend along with the meals was very good.
The only thing I did not like was the decorations....too many urns and a lot overdone on the paintings. I liked the Spirits decor much better. Almost same idea but not so overdone.
There was only one time that I ever had a bad service from Carnival and that was on the Imagination in 1999. And that was only the room steward....Had to ask him serveral times to do something or get clean towels...he seemed to get lost whenever you need his services. At the end of the cruise his envelope was quite lite as his tip was less than he expected. At the same time the waiter got an extra tip cause he gave excellent service to me and my family.
Go and enjoy yourself on the Legend.......I am sure you will have a great time.

Glad to hear some good things about the Legend since my family & I will be sailing over Christmas this year.
I don't like reading negative reviews either so hope we don't have the same feeling when we get back. I always go with an open mind and plan to have a great time!

I like to go with an open mind, too. Do you know if Carnival management ever reads the reviews posted here? It would seem like a good marketing tool, and far less expensive for tham than to hire focus groups!
