What can I say other than we are a bit confused & definately disappointed in this result!!! Internist's nurse called Fri a.m. to say the report came back "undiagnostic" to which I asked what the he%#% does that mean? She said the report can not say that this mass in the abdomen (approx 2 inches) is or is not cancer. She said our dr was also disturbed by this & called the oncologist. Oncologist said he would sit down with head of radiology with the films & go over them for a more defined answer. We went away for the weekend as we just needed to get away from this for a couple of days & a while ago the nurse called to say the game plan is as follows: WAIT & watch for 2 mo. On Jan 5th they will do a more advanced CT of the ENTIRE chest/abdomen/pelvis to see what things look like. My concern is that 2 of the meds he is on PROMOTE the growth of tumors. Trying to keep positive here, at least the report did NOT come back absolutely cancer. So here is where we stand: a spine so full of lesions that they can't even count them but a negative biopsy from the spine, a negative biopsy of the prostate, multiple nodules on the lower lungs but with no changes they don't want to do a biopsy (fine with us), and now an undiagnosed mass in the upper abdomen. And to top it all off, he suffers from extremely severe Crhon's disease. A WHOLE lot going on here! All drs agree it all looks VERY suspicious but so far NOTHING positive for cancer. So far all blood work holding steady. Folks all I can say is that you're all welcome to wait & watch with us as this saga continues; kind of like a medical soap opera isn't it? To those of you facing much more serious issues than we are at this time, you are in my thoughts & I wish all of you positive outcomes.
