OK. First off Welcome aboard. Glad you're here.

Now, to your question .... Which ship? Most have individual thermostats in the cabins, but some don't. There is no hard and fast rule within the industry requiring them, and every ship is different.

I've found that a small desk fan (about 5" diameter) works very well for providing a gentle breeze, circulating the air, clearing the fog off the mirrors. Bring an extension cord, and duct tape to keep from tripping over it.

The fan in the head (bathroom) is usually inadequate and you probably won't hear it from the main cabin ...

One more thing, on many ships, the cabin air conditioner control is located on the ceiling. And it's just a little lever next tot he vent, that you slide from side to side.

It took me a couple days to find that thing, the first time I encountered one.

I must have noise when I sleep to. What we do is prop the balcony door open and listen to the sounds of the night & water....it's the best!
Otherwise your fan, noise machine and simple exhaustion from having so much fun on the ship all day should work fine.
P.S. - Carnival has THE BEST beds and bedding. Don't worry, you will sleep fine!
Enjoy your cruise!
