A few questions....

Hi all! I have a few questions and I thought I would post them all in one single thread and not flood the board! If anyone has an answer to any or all of my questions please answer :)

1) Can you get extra pillows on the ship from your room stewardess? I usually sleep on 3 pillows and then have one against my back and hugging another so I need to know if I can get as many as I need, if they charge extra or what.

2) My mom and I have decided to do the “The Best of Cayman Island Tour†and the “Cozumel Highlights & Shopping Tour†for our excursions. Since we are both scared of water and don’t know how to swim these sound like the best ones for us. Has anyone took either of these and if so how where they? Do you have to tip the drivers or is that included in the fee? Any other info you have I would love to hear it

3) I believe on the Cayman Island tour you stop at the Rum Factory. If we buy a couple of small bottles will the ship let us take it back on board with us or does the factory have to send it back to the boat?

4) I would love to visit Margaretville and have lunch there after our tour. Is it within walking distance of the boat or do you need to get a taxi? We will be on the Conquest but I’m not sure where they will drop us off at.

5) I’ve heard other people say that it takes anywhere from 1-2 hours to get off and back on the boat after it docks. Is this true? If so that doesn’t leave very much time at each place.

6) Does Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel take US money? Up until about an hour ago I thought the answer was yes but I was reading on another board that in the Cayman Island restaurants they did not. If we do go to Margaretville I’ll have to change my money beforehand so I need to know.

1) Yes. Just ask.

2) I have not done either of these.

3) You can take the run back to the ship. However, the ship will hold the bottles for you until the last day.

4) I have not been to Montego Bay - yet.

5) ??? Even in Grand Cayman, where you have to tender (the ship does not dock in Grand Cayman) it only takes 30 minutes at the most. In Cozumel and Montego Bay, where the ship does does dock, it takes about two minutes to leave and about five to re-board. Don't believe everything you read.

6) I have never had a problem using US dollars on any of the Caribbean islands or Mexico. I've been to Grand Cayman and Cozumel three times and Jamaica twice.

Yes, Margaritaville is right in the harbor and a close walk.
The dollar is welcome at all ports you mentioned
tenders come and go from thje time you anchor until you pull up anchor. tender takes about 4-5 minutes to get to the dock.

However, Once we were on Grand Cayman and waiting for a tender to go back to the ship. The weather got so rough that the ship went to the other side of the island and we had to take a bus to another dock to tender back to the ship. It was a very upsetting experience for some people. (I didn't really care)

1) Can you get extra pillows on the ship from your room stewardess? I usually sleep on 3 pillows and then have one against my back and hugging another so I need to know if I can get as many as I need, if they charge extra or what. On my last two Carnival cruises, there were already two pillows on each bed. There was an extra in the closet the last time, but like other have said, just ask your room steward.

Any other info you have I would love to hear itI haven't done either of these tours---but the tip is not included in the excursion fees. There will likely be a tip jar very visible on the bus/van/car.

3) I believe on the Cayman Island tour you stop at the Rum Factory. If we buy a couple of small bottles will the ship let us take it back on board with us or does the factory have to send it back to the boat? Carnival doesn't let you take your liquor purchases back to your cabin. When you re-board, they will have a table set up for bottle collection. If they are small, you may be able to 'sneak' it back. But they do send your bags through an x-ray machine each time.

4) I would love to visit Margaretville and have lunch there after our tour. Is it within walking distance of the boat or do you need to get a taxi? We will be on the Conquest but I’m not sure where they will drop us off at.If it is the usual Carnival pier, Margaritaville is right there! There is also a Margaritaville in Cozumel, but it is not within walking distance if you're at Puerta Maya pier.

5) I’ve heard other people say that it takes anywhere from 1-2 hours to get off and back on the boat after it docks. Is this true? If so that doesn’t leave very much time at each place. It usually doesn't take that long, BUT the line to get a tender can get quite long. I had to wait for 30-45 mins to get a tender this past April to get back on the Valor. And there is no shade!! It is very hot!

6) Does Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel take US money? Up until about an hour ago I thought the answer was yes but I was reading on another board that in the Cayman Island restaurants they did not. If we do go to Margaretville I’ll have to change my money beforehand so I need to knowGrand Cayman only.
As far as I am aware, they all take US money. The problem is, they may give you their money back. This happened to my friend
Have a Great Cruise!!!.

I AM NOT SURE HOW MUCH THE SHOPPING TOUR YOU ARE TAKING IN COZUMEL COSTS, BUT THE SHOPPING IS RIGHT THERE CLOSE TO THE PIER. I WOULD HOWEVER HIGHLY RECOMMEND A TOUR OF SOME TYPE FOR MONTEGO BAY, I WOULD ONLY GO WITH A GROUP OF PEOPLE THERE THE LOCAL PEOPLE ARE VERY AGGRESSIVE. JAMAICA IS BEAUTIFUL, BUT I NEVER FEEL SAFE THERE UNLESS I GO WITH OTHERS. JUST MY OPINION.

Yeah I don't think we are going to do anything there. Everyone says it's really bad so we're going to get off and look around somewhere close to the boat.
