Two years ago we did an ALL day tour and headed off to Shirley Heights.

With our dear friends (surfergirl & The WHG) we did an ALL day tour of the Island with a Private Taxi.

1st Stop was Nelsons Dockyard where Our Private Taxi Guide (Randolph) drop us off and waited while we took the tour.

We then were shuttled off to see some Gr8 places such as Eric Clapton's mansion.

Then had our Private Taxi drops US at Long Bay for some Sun and Beach time. Long Bay hotel will let U use their facilities (loungers, restrooms) for a small charge.

And MOST importantly they had a nearby Beach Bar for your thirst quencher. :grin

We had our Private Taxi Tour Guide (Randolph) return at a specific time (3 hours) for Our return to St. John.

Since we had all day and the ship did NOT leave til 11 PM we took about 8 hours of the day to do this tour and had a fantastic time. It could be done in 5 or 6 hours if U had to. Our cost was $20 per person with a nice tip for Randolph's hospitality and flexibility.

We also had to make the MUST stop at Nick Maley's (Star Wars Artist) Gallery in town on the way back to the ship. :) He is a VERY nice man and has some Gr8 pieces art.

Most recognizable for his famous Caribbean Autographed Map. :thumb

I would highly recommend a tour of this type and look up Raldolph as he was fantastic. :thumb Its hard to find a BAD beach on Antigua as we have visited Dickinson's Bay, and Turner Beach and both were also VERY nice but Long Bay was a step above IMO and we WILL return there someday for another relaxing day in the future. Enjoy your Day in Antigua. :thumb
