I am posting this to express MY Opions....... I just got off of the 11/29 sailing of the Triumph. This was my 8th cruise(some including Disney & RCCL) and my 1st Carnival. The only reason why I chose Carnival was due to the price and that it was a guys trip. (My dad, My son (5) and myelf (31). We arrived at the terminal with the attitude no matter how bad Carnival is (due to the reviews I have read) we were going to have a goodtime. Well let me tell you we are still in SHOCK & AWE...... In a great way...... And we will do it again.....

Just some remarks from previous reviews

Water stains on the carpet..... Yes they were there but what are you people doing hanging out in the hallways of your rooms? You are on a cruise get out and have fun.

The rest of the ship was spotless.....

The crews attitude being poor.... Is it the crews attitude or is it yours.... We could have not asked to be treated any better than we where..... THANKS to Andy in the Casino, Renata, Ireana, Ivana and Sonia ---wait staff and to all of the crew in Camp Carnival...... Your simpley the best.

Rooms not being made up or cleaned...... I can't reply everytime we came back to our room our steward had been in...... He was great

I am sure that I have forgotten some things or if you have any questions please ask......

Just remember when your are reading reviews there are some very grumpy people in this world and all they like to do is complain.......

For you guys planning that first cruise relax dont worry that is what cruising is all about....

Now off to planning our 2nd Disney Cruise for March 6th 2004

I was also very apprehensive about cruising on Carnval due to reviews I had read and what some people had said. I, like you, found that the staff did a great job in taking care of us and I was very impressed with the service. I would not hesitate to book on Carnival again.

I am glad your cruise turned out to be an enjoyable one.

I must say that I will never again sail on carnival's older ships. I had such a terrible time on the Imagination I had to imagine that I had a good time. In 2001 the boat was quite rusted and worn and in real need of being dry docked. I had a bucket of water dumped on me from a deck above, purser's desk was incredibly rude, and disembarkation was a nightmare. I had sent them a letter saying so too, so in reply, they gave me an apoligy and and a 10% discount on a future cruise. October of 2002 I booked with Carnival on the Legend to take advantage of the discount and hoped for the best, it being a new ship. Let me tell you, it was the best cruise I've ever been on and the most beautiful ship I've seen so far. (the Grand Princess doesn't even compare)Staff was great and the activity director was the most entertaining, there was never a loss for things to do. And the food, all I can say is wow!
I've been on RCCL, Princess, and Carnival. They all were nice but Carnival comes out ahead, well I should say the newer ships do. That's just my opinion. I not a really picky person, I just call it like it is.

We were on our first Carnival Cruise this year and did notice the famed 'stains' in a couple places.

Big deal.

You really had to look to see them and they were probably due to careless passengers anyway.

We have been on Preimier & NCL and this one was as good or better than any of them!

We will sail Carnival again in the future.

I only read the reviews for a good laugh.

I have sailed Carnival 2x since 1999 and have another booked 3/04. Furthermoore, I am outside of the standard Carnival Demographic at age 57. However, I really enjoyed the cruises with them. Thought the food in the dine rm quite good say as compared to Celebrity. I did prefer the breakfast menu on NCL as it has variations over the trip. The service has generally been acceptable to excellent. That said over the 2 cruises I had the best (01) & the worst (99) waiter ever over 9 cruises and the worst ever room steward (01) in a mini-suite yet. the shore excursion staff was horrible both times but I have given up on ships excursions and usually book my own since 99.

I too wonder about the carpet stain and color of cabin people. I have asked if they call their hotel in advance of booking and ask about these things. i figure I am renting a place for the trip not buying it. therfore what the hey. I'm not working, cleaning or cooking. I'm on vacation.

I think that some of the people who right reviews on this site could never be pleased. It amazes me how some peole can find the smallest things complaine about. " I think the stairs are an 1/16 of an inch to tall. They make me tired."

I know this will not set well with some people.

I have done 3 cruises in the last 18 months, 2 with Carnival. The Pride back in May was tremendous. My trip on the Grand Princess was extraordinary. I had no complaints about either. However my cruise last month on the Destiny leaves me no choice but to look elsewhere. I won't go into details but I experienced every negative ever posted about the ship. To date Carnival has not addressed my complaints.

I knew going on the ship that I had to put all the negatives behind me that I had read and to make the most of what I was getting into. I really tried to avoid the problems and look for the positives but it was extremely difficult.

I have done 6 cruises with Carnival in the last 2 1/2 yrs and with the exception of the Destiny all were awsome. I was on the Elation, twice on the Trimuph, Pride, Paradise which were all great cruises, wonderful staff, etc. However the Destiny was a the worst experience ever. I am currently booked on the Inspiration and can't wait. Know it will be great. katie

We like Carnival vs RCCL. Have not tried any other lines yet. We were on the older ship Inspiration and never saw a carpet stain but to be honest, we really didn't pay attention to carpet. We loved our service in all areas (except the error on our bill and how it was handled). I really did not seem much of a price difference. If I could go back to Inspiration I would go in a heart beat, but can't because we have to sail out of New Orleans so we are giving the Conquest a try! Kate-nanna, enjoy, it is a wonderful ship :) Nan

I totally agree that some people live there lives for the simple purpose of complaining. I just went on my first cruise on the Carnival Victory on March 9, 2003 and even though I did notice some stains on the carpeting......... SO WHAT. Accidents happen and sometimes the outcome is a stain or two. I was very pleased with the service. From our room steward to our dining room staff and so on. I am currently planning another cruise in October 0f 2004 and March of 2005, on Carnival Glory and Carnival Miracle respectively. Some people just need to learn to RELAX and look at the big picture. A little problem shouldn't ruin your whole vacation. After all don't we have enough to worry about in our every day lives. Enjoy the time away at all costs!!!
