vancouver has me stumped.
i will arrive at 10:30 am and sail the next day at 5:30pm. i will be alone and want to do fun and interesting things so the time will go by faster. i would like to see grouse mt. and the suspension bridge. also the all day pass for the trolley sounds good. i want to make the most of my 'one'day there and also save some money for the cruise. has any one done a day there alone or any of the things i mentioned. being alone does not bother me, just picking the best things to do has me dizzy. thanks for any replies. dusty

Took a Graylines tour-- and saw Grouse Mt and did the bridge all in one tour--- they have several tours to choose from -- and vary in time---- Grandville Island is nice too-- sorry you might need and extra day or two to see it all---lol---
Millstones-- White Spot and The Keg are nice places to eat too---
Enjoy whatever you do---
Cheers

THANKS AGAIN. i am checking into the land&sea tour group. they have some good tours for the day i am there before i sail (the bridge and grouse mt.) and they have a pre-cruise tour in my price range that sounds fun and they drop me and my luggage off at the peir when we are done. no taxi or bus to worry about. so i am set.

and your suggestions for eating places sound good too!!!

glad to hear from you. dusty

We ate at the Steamworks - great food and the price is reasonable - you can check out their menu at steamworks.com. Its located right near the water near the entrance to Gastown.

i have finally decided on what to do in vancouver the day before i sail.

i found Land/Sea tours for their day tours.. since i arrive at 10:30am i can have them pick me up at the hotel and we go for 5 1/2 hrs to : hatchery, reservouir, capaino bridge, grouse mt. and back across on the sea ferry. it sounds like great fun, is very reasonable in cost (all admissions are paid) and will keep me busy that day. this is their north shore tour.

then on the day i sail (at 5:30 pm) they will pick me up again with my luggage for their 'pre-cruise' tour. we will go to stanley park, chinatown, granville market and other places before we go to the top of the look out tower to see the ship and then to canadian place right in front of the ship. WOW. sure cant wait. and since i will be on my own i wont have to worry about being alone or chasing down transportation to see al the things i wanted to go to anyway. NOW IM ALL SET FOR SURE.

Sounds like you got it all covered. Took me years to do all those things. BTW Steamworks is under renovations but still open and serving great food. Was there last night. Persons with a physical disability need to see hostess at side door and then be shown to elevator around the corner.

Hi we arrive in Vancouver around 1:30 and are hoping to get to our hotel and still have some sightseeing time. The morning tour sounds great but what happens if we purchased a transfer as part of our precruise package? Any other thoughts. I know my hubby will want to get to the ship as soon as possible but I hate to miss any opportunity to see Vancouver. Would be glad to just get ot Stanley Park. We are staying at the Sheraton Wall Center. Anyone been there? Thanks.. Sue
ONe week to go!
