Can't speak for all lines, but RCI has shipping packs they use. Clear plastic bags with ribbed sidewalls. Bottle goes in. Flap over is sealed. Hose is connected and ribbed sections are inflated. You end up with a rigid pack to put in the middle of your suitcase.

You have 3 ways to get it home.

Mail it-some customer service desks onboard will do this for you and charge only shipping, or you can mail it on land.

Put it in your checked bag for the plane.

Or you can carry it on but at either check in, security or boarding gate, I forget which they will take it from you and the
airline stewards will store it with them and return it to you when your exiting the plane. Most airlines do this now, but a few still
will not do this unless you buy the bottle in the duty free inside the airport.

You will never get through the security checkpoints at the airport with bottles of alcohol. It will be taken from you and not returned. Everything confiscated fron travelers is thrown out. It is against TSA regulations to board a plane with more than 3 ounces of any kind of liquid.

Well this person already went on the cruise, but this might help the next person that needs to know.
I usually fly international, I did not realize they applied the 3oz rule to domestic but sailaway is right they will not let you throu with the bottle.
I will point out a few options here, first off they won't take it from you unless you insist on going throu security at that very second. Umm instead you tell them you didn't know, get out of line go to the information desk and ask where you can mail/ship from in the airport, and mail it to yourself at home.
Second any perscription medication liquid or not has no 3oz. limit. Also baby formula and breast milk are both allowed in sizes larger than 3oz.
Third you can wait till you go throu security and buy your alcohol in the duty free shops, at which point they are delivered by the duty free people to your plane.Where the flight attendants store it and hand it to you when you exit the plane, just make sure to tell them you have a duty free bottle when your getting off, since it is stored in the flight attendant area at the front exit.

1) Who wants to go through security twice. Why not just stop at the information desk BEFORE getting in the security line.

3) You can only buy something in the duty free shop if you have an international ticket. If you are flying domestic you cannot purchase anything in the duty free shop.
