We (29 of us) are going on Pete Tayor's tour to dunns river falls.

Where do you get dropped off and where does he pick you up??

Are you allowed to leave stuff (ie backpack, shoes) on the bus??

If not then is there a place you can put your stuff so things don't get wet??

And where would that be?

If we are dropped off at the bottom and picked up at the top which would make perfect sense, then where would we be able to store thing so they don't get wet?

Any help would be great.

There are lockers available for a small fee at the top of the falls. Peat will drop you off at the park entrance and you then proceed to pay your entrance fee (which Peat will deduct from his charge) and walk down the boardwalk to the bottom of the falls. A guide will accompany you on the climb up the falls and he will take pictures using your cameras ( a tip is expected of course). When your climb is completed, you will be directed to the park exit which requires you to pass through a maze of shops where you will be hounded like crazy to make purchases. Since the park exit is very near the entrance, one could avoid the shopping area by ignoring the signs (go left toward the entrance, instead of right through the shopping area). Once out of the park, Peat will be in the parking area at the agreed upon time.

Yeah...what Cruzman said!

Only when we went in September, the cost of the park entrance fee was included in Peat's fee. If memory serves, he gave us some kind of ticket to present at the park entrance. It could have changed since then...?? You can probably find out on his website.

Your group will be assigned a guide. Whether you use him/her or not I guess is up to you. There was a lot of the climb where we didn't hold hands (and got separated from our guide) but there are some parts where you'll need to. The guides will try to keep their groups together so they will be sure to get all of their tips at the end. I think we tipped $5-10 at the end...I can't remember.

Be sure to bring some aqua socks or something like that (my boyfriend wore his Teva sandals). If you don't have shoes, it is really slippery.

You will have a great time....I am so glad that I did this once. I agree with Cruzman that you should avoid the market at the top unless you like being followed and groped by strangers.

Hi

I went in Sept with my family and we bypassed the guide that they tried to give us and went up the falls by ourselves. It was much faster and nicer as you didn't have to hold hands and wait for 30 other people to pick their way up the falls.... The guide did find us at the top and tried to get us to tip him but we told him right out that we did not go with the group and we had walked on our own.... it was our second time there but i don't think you would have a problem even if this is your first time..

Enjoy!!!

I agree...if you are so inclined to skip the guide you probably can. It is soooo unorganized and the guides have trouble keeping track of their people anyway.

Someone I know just came back from a cruise and went to Dunn's Fall and did the climb with a group 'holding hands". The woman (a stranger) in front of my friend slipped and in doing so, pulled my friend down with her. She was fine. My friend, however, got his foot wedged between two rocks and when he pulled his foot out, his big toe nail got pulled off. (YUCK) :dizzy It hurt him the entire remainder of the cruise. He wasn't too happy!

I'm going on a cruise in April and doing Dunns Falls with Peat Taylor , but I'm not sure if I want to hold hands either! Not if someone is gonna make me fall and I don't want to make someone else get hurt on my account either. I don't know if I'll be forced into holding hands or what. I guess I'll see when I get there.

I'm a double-digit-midget!! 21 more days.... :grin

Ouch! :(

No one will force you. Just make sure you keep your "buddy" nearby, 'cause you'll need some help now and again.
