Just booked a Alaska cruise on Serenade of Seas - would like input regarding having a balcony cabin at back of ship - Stern.......I have only cruised Holland America previously. Travelling with four other couples, look forward to hopefully a more lively cruise then Holland America. How does the food compare beteween Royal Caribbean and Holland America? Thanks for any feedback.

Here is a link from the community forum about Aft balconies. Grab blankets in the beginning of the cruise to enjoy the balcony.

I have sailed both lines. The food is edible. The thing is about sailing Alaska.....What Alaska has to offer is the key, not so much the ship and cruiseline. If that makes sense.

Dress in layers, as the weather is very unpredictable.

We were in 9258 on the Radiance next to 9256.if you have 9256, keep it.
It's one of the best locations on the ship for Alaska.
9258 was good, 9256 was better.

We have had 2 aft cabins on the SR.......7672(for our Alaska cruise) and 8670(for the Caribbean)......the afts are the best ,esp for Alaska!!

Never been on HAL,so cant compare.............I,for one, can eat the food on any line........I am not picky!:)
