it just finished POURING rain for over 1/2 hour.. now we do need the rain, and as I said to Mark the *alternative* to that rain would be frozen rain.. and at this point it could not be even *tolerated*..=eek..

but it was stunning here in Vermont all day..the sun was out, a nice breeze going, a perfect as Jan puts it "Chamber of Commerce day".. :grin..

and I was inside working.. the worse sin of that was I was an "extra nurse".. and the BIG Boss Director of Nursing took me off my regular gig.. and handed me about 10 pieces of ick paperwork and begged me to wail on them..sigh..she had been trying all week to no avail.. and I did..got about 9 done and that was near a bloomin miracle.!!. but :blah if I wanted to be a pencil pusher deal with all that nasty fed/ crapiola regulation paperwork Nurse..that gets circulated ,and yet makes it that as a facility we are allowed to stay open.. I'd have gone to Nursing School, and gotten my BA in Admin too.. still I did whip out of the Building ON TIME :dance at 3:15 PM on the dot..

so I get home ..grab a little nap..( um 2 hours later.. ).. and then WHAM.. it's pouring.. what's a girl to do.. cook.. so I have a late supper on, the Colorado Rockies baseball is on later.. and I shall just putter around till bed.. hope you all have a great night.. :)..Joanne

Joanne at least when you are pushing a pencil you are sitting and not running your legs off. Although I know you love the hands on more. So glad you got home regular time for a change.

Woke up early and watched the sun rise which was pretty. Then started on the laundry.....watered my flowers since it was going to be in the 80's and it was just a beautiful hot day with a slight breeze. Heavy winds now. They say over an inch of snow at Steamboat right now and still snowing. Of course we won't get that here they say maybe a few flurries early morning. Still too warm here.

Mike and I decided let's get the freezer and fridge cleaned out before shopping. So we both decided what was chuck what was stay in the freezer and then did the same with the fridge.

Made a quick stop at Walley World about ten minutes is all, and then had lunch out. Did grocery shopping, pharmacy and home we came. I've been churning laundry all day and got one bathroom done.

Tomorrow is another day and I have a 2 week's worth of ironing to tackle.

Mike just made fried eggs, sausage and waffles for din din. Strange how sometimes that tastes so good at night instead of breakfast.

Getting ready to shower and settle in for the rockies game in a bit.

So that's it from this end of the world.

Everyone enjoy the night.

I had to whip out 2 pies last night for tonights Chicken Pie Supper at the American Legion.it's a benefit for the Veteran's...well the Ladies of the Legion always have me waitress.. but after over 100 hours this last 2 weeks I passed, but my usual contribution of pies was delivered by Mark this AM.. and ...

=lolgang..if I'm going to make a mess. make it count.. well I made an extra Apple Crumble Pumpkin Custard pie for the house, but he was in bed watching TV when I pulled them out, and he had been playing his computer game when I made them.. so a little while ago he was like OMG.. it was after 12 Noon when I noticed this *extra* pie sitting in the fridge, and realised it was a "House Pie".. so that was his lunch.he snagged a piece of pie... I was Hmm was it Good??.. his response.. yup my diet is blown now for 2 more days...sigh.. oh well...back to low carbs again Monday....later kids..Joanne

Good evening. Ian't that always the way. It is lovely till you can get out there and then it rains! Such is life.
We had a nice visit and lunch with son & Daughter-in-law. They have just come off their #16 cruise. They go to Alaska and the west coast mainly. They have gone on 1 day cruises and this last one was an overnighter from Seattle, Victoria to Vancouver.
We have dinner on tap at Sandra's tomorrow with all the 3 girls. The son and his wife don't get along with two of his sisters. Makes it awkward. But it is their loss. But when I got sick and when Alf's Dad was sick, they were all there for us. But Alf & I aren't about to tell them to make up. After all this time I doubt if anyone remembers what they are angry about.
Have a great evening.

Liz, isn't it a shame when sisters and brothers can't get along? It is sad.

I know my SIL hasn't spoken to either of her two brothers for many years. I know that one fight was over something at bowling when they used to be on the same team! And then, not to talk to each other for 15 years after that?? It seems that all those years are wasted, when they could be having fun together.

Sometimes, you just wish you could lock them together in a room until they all got along again...but sadly you just can't do that.

I guess I'm pretty fortunate, I am one of eight sisters and brothers, and we all get along TOO well at times. :)

The priest at our church said something at Mass one Sunday, that really stuck in my head...

Each time you forgive someone, you build part of a bridge. You need that bridge completed, because that is the bridge that will take you to heaven.

What happens in Vermont soon happens in Maine - Rain. :grin Just a soft rain though.

Karen ran errands this morning while I was working outside on the addition we are building. Perfect weather. Sunshinny but cool. When she returned, we installed a second floor window (double-hung type with a transom). This was my day all day.

About 4:30, I quit, made some coffee, and sat on the deck watching the little birds on the feeders. Shortly after I came in, I started baking cornbread and watched four deer out back feeding.

Tomorrow, I will put up new "NO HUNTING" signs around the property and pound some more nails on the addition. We have to have this new addition closed in before we go to Hawaii Oct 16th for 2 weeks.

Bibb, did Karen help you install the window?

I know how much fun that can be....I had to be the "holder" many times when windows were put in around here.

CC, yes that is Lillian but I need a newer picture. She had to go to the dr last week and they weighed her and at 7 weeks old she has already gained exactly 3 lbs. She now weights 9lb 1oz.
