We flew from SAN last July and found the airfare on travelocity.com. Just watch it every day, a couple times a day. Usually, you can get a fare around $250 per person - sometimes less, sometimes more. If you see a fare in that range, go for it and be glad you got it. The best connecting city, IMO, is Dallas. It breaks up the flight into 2 almost equal segments. Good luck!
