We already talked to our TA about switching the tickets.  She told us that normally you could request an air 'deviation' for a $50 service charge plus any difference in air fare (which we probably would have done), but you can only do that either at booking or at least 45 days prior to sailing. Of course, when we booked the cruise they told us they wouldn't have any info on air travel until about 30 days before sailing, so we never even thought about it until we got the cruise docs. Well, live and learn, I guess. She did reassure us that since Princess handled the arrangements they will do whatever they can to make sure we get there.
