Alarm Clocks on Princess

We are taking our first cruise. We've booked an interior stateroom. I am wondering if the room will have an alarm clock or do I need to bring one. If I bring one will there be a problem with plugging it in? We've booked excursions for early each morning we're in port and I won't wake up in time without an alarm clock. Thanks to anyone who can answer this for me.

Cruise ships never have alarm clocks -- apparently they want you to sleep all day.....

As far as plugging one in -- probably not on the side where the bed is. Outlets in ship cabins are few and far between -- usually just by the desk. So you either have to put it across the room from you, or get a battery clock.

I always bring an alarm clock. It provides light and time for the interior cabins. I plug it in on the desk. You just have to reset it through every time zone....Panama Canal was fun, but I was never late!

You just get a wake up call on the cabin telephone or if you have a cell/mobile phone, set the alarm on that. That is what I did on my last cruise.
Besides the announcements for the casual day trippers at about 6 am wake one up..LOL

A tip for a inside cabin, set the TV to the Bridge cam. It will give you some light from sunrise to sunset. I don't recall what channel it is on.

I totally would agree that for an inside stateroom have an alarm clock. I have only had an inside stateroom once and we had no concept for the time - i don't know how many times i missed breakfast. I love the idea about the Ship cam! Needless to say i am always going to book for a balcony room going forward! I love to be able to watch the water while reading or drinking my morning coffee.

I told the story on some board....how my last inside cabin 15-20 years ago, I went to bed REALLY LATE and woke up at 4pm on formal night...OHMYGOSH I thought as I rushed into shower and change into my gown...ran up on deck and couldn't understand why it was dark and there were crew cleaning the pool area. They just stared at me. I asked meekly, um..what day and time is it? You guessed it, it was 5am. I hadn't slept 12 hours, only one.

When I was in an inside cabin (hate them) I kept the TV on all night with the channel that shows the ship's live cam. That way I knew if it was light or dark outside. I always pack a little alarm clock , for those early shore excursions!
No alarm clocks but you can get a wake up call.
Yes, the whole thread kinda puzzled me. Alarm clock? I put in for the automated wake up calls from my phone, which has the correct time and date. (at least on Celeb).
