alcohol policy

Hi Everyone. I have a cruise scheduled on the Carnival Liberty in June and wanted to figure out their policy on alcohol in the cabin. We have cruised with Holland America before this and we preordered a couple of bottles of gin and scotch before we sailed. The price wasn't that bad. Far cheaper than buying from the bar every night. Can you pre-order on Carnival lines?

Thanks,
Debbie

Yes. You can call the Gifts & Services department at Carnival and order bottles of whatever kind of liquor you want. They are high, but may be worth it to you? They also sell the 'package' with setups. I don't think you'll find it on the website. Just call the 800 number and ask for G&S dept. Everything will be in your cabin upon arrival.

Not for U CA as the Carnival Liquor Patrol has already been alerted. :grin

Just bring whatever you need aboard in your checked bags. Once in the cabin, nobody will bother you about it. You can carry on some wine and champagne as well and nothing will be said. Just don't go overboard with it. (pun intended) .

Just got home from Victory. We took a bottle of Vodka, Rum, Wine and I put tequila in Mt. Dew bottles and all came to the cabin without a sip being taken from anyone who was checking the bags :) If you drink any of above with coke, tonic water or Sprite, buy a soda card and just pour in your stash. I also brought 2 bottles of Mr and Mrs. T's Bloody Mary mix. I go up to the bar on Lido and fill up a glass with limes and they all look at me and laugh...

We are doing Carnival on 4/8 - do I need to pour my liquor in other bottles to pack or leave in the original? The soda card is a good idea...... I knew I found the site for a reason....

Now if someone can help me get a ticker, life will be all good...

scdreamweaver, I used to do the matching soda bottles to the liquor but haven't done that in a few cruises and nothing has ever been taken out. I don't know if I'm just one of the lucky ones or what. I guess it depends on how much you are going to take. Maybe they will let you thru with a bottle or two, but if you plan to take your own bar, they might draw the line. :grin I don't know this for a fact, tho. You have the time, so why don't you start saving the soda bottles just in case.

We packed a bottle of vodka and a bottle of Kahlua for the wifeys white russians. I helped with the vodka. She just went to the buffet everyday and they gave her a couple of cartons of milk and she was all set. Have heard of others carrying on soft side coolers. Want to know where to find one. The vodka goes well with the lemonade from the buffet also. Shoot, vodka goes well with just about anything!!

Miracle 5/21/06, is this calender right?

Coachbuilder, I tried my "stashed" vodka with the lemonade once and got the worst sore throat/heartburn! Yukkk(td)(td) If you or your DW get soda cards, tonic water is included in the "list" of sodas you can get. I get a big glass of tonic water with extra limes, then dump in my vodka. I also bring Mr and Mrs. T's Bloody Mary mix. And of course, you can always fill up a glass with OJ at breakfast and put in it your fridge for screwdrivers. Vodka is the universal booze :lol I usually bring either TGIF Mudslides or White Russians. Doesn't taste as good as "home made" but it still hits the spot and is so much easier. (tu)

Karry,
Where do you find the TGIF stuff, my DW might like that. Liquor store? She likes the foo-foo drinks as well as the frozen thingees, I like mine with tonic or if it's good vodka , on the rocks. Never thought about bringing tonic with us. Another thing to add to my list. Gonna have to get another suit case. Still looking for the soft side coolers too. 65 days to go.

Jess, yes, I found the TGIF thingys at Bottle King in our area. And again, you can get tonic water "free" if you buy a soda card. My DH gets a card. He likes rum and coke. We bring the rum, the soda card provides the coke! After he orders his coke he gives it to a friend we are travelling with who gets HIS coke which he puts rum in. Then I go up and get tonic water and dump my vodka in :lol I don't feel guilty at all doing this. We buy plenty of drinks at the bar also, always recruit people to come with us and leave PLENTY of $ at the casino after each trip! Of all the cruises we have been on, they never check the soda card for your name. Just flash it at the bartender to show the soda card sticker. Have a great cruise! I have never been on the Miracle.
