Aloha Deck - Aft Rooms

I've booked A745 (inside) because of its proximity to the outside... kind of like having the biggest 'balcony' on the ship (albeit, not private) with a pool, just feet away. Plus, easy access to the Horizon Court, the other aft pool and hot tubs on the decks above.:thumb

Has anyone had an aft stateroom, Aloha deck on the Sapphire (or any of her sister ships)?
If so, did you like it? Is there any 'downside'?

Funny, but that's the exact reason I chose NOT to book Aloha deck on Ruby. My thoughts were
1) lack of air conditioning from all door opening with the pool traffic in the hallways
2) noise and wet feet coming down the hallways
3) lack of privacy when opening and closing stateroom door

So I went one deck down, where there is nothing but staterooms. I have never been on Aloha either, so I was just taking a calculated guess.

Conniemc,

Ah ha! Great minds think differently!;)

I've had two similar rooms in the past: A743 on the old Ocean Princess (Sun-class), and B303 on the old Regal Princess. Both were as far aft as possible - right next to the door leading to the outside decks - and never experienced any of the 'problems' you envision. I loved those rooms!

However, I've never been on the Sapphire (or any of the ships with the same aft deck plans).

I booked a veranda and I'm not much of a "pool person", (I've always lived on the beach), but it's a nice concept for some.

Yes, we've been back there on the Sun class ships and for our money there isn't a Better place to be!! We heard Nary a noise from the door opening and closing. In fact, it is so quite back there. Love it!!! :)

Here is a pic leading into the hallway. You 1st go into a little vestibul. I was worried that we would hear the interior door shutting all of the time. But never hear one sound.

Ditto on your Sun class comment as I have done that twice and had same experience.

My only experience with Aloha deck (and I don't recall which ship) was negative in that every morning, bright and early, we heard them setting up deck chairs on the Lido deck. Too noisy too early. Not a problem if you're an early riser.
