How do the rooms on the Aloha Deck compare to the other decks? We are booked in cabin A412 on the Star Princess to Alaska.

Rooms within the same category will be pretty much the same, what can vary is balconies depending on location. You are in a double w/balcony and that cabin is the same throughout the ship, but best cabins in that class will be on the Caribe deck since this is a tier ship the double w/balcony on Caribe have almost twice the size balcony which is half covered and half uncovered.

Just to add to what bOB says he is comparing the size of the balcony on Aloha Deck (Deck 12) to the balcony on Caribe Deck (Deck 10). I agree with bOB the best cabins are on Caribe but they are also more expensive then Aloha when comparing the same category staterooms.
