In achorage their are many things to do.  There is the Anchorage museum which in my opinion is a must see.  It has a lot of exhibits from the valdez oil spill.  The chena river is a great place to check out especially while the Salmon are running.  You can see the fisherman stand shoulder to shoulder trying to catch fish.  There are a lot of great resturants and also a large shopping district with a lot of interesting shops.
