Sure you said, adopt Simon. And all this time not one of you (including me) happened to think what life is like with a 3 month old kitten. He makes BJ and Cruise cutie look like slug a beds, lol. Man, pure energy. It is like a 3 ring circus in here!

There was the time he wanted to be picked up,only I was busy doing something else. So, resourceful little guy decides to just climb up into my lap. 20 little pin pricks in my leg! Then, he must have thought all the screaming and yelling was lots of fun, so he climbed the other leg.

Then last night, while the big guys napped, I caught him swinging from my living room curtains.

Let's start at the beginning. I was out all Sunday morning and most of the afternoon, so I went into the "prison" to get him. I thought I would take a little nap first. He is still terrified when I stand up, so he hid under the bed and wouldn't come out. So, I just laid down and fell asleep. When I woke up, I had company, curled up next to me. I picked him up, and out to the rest of the home we went. I closed off everything but the living room, dining room and kitchen and the utility room. When we came out, Scooter was sitting on the back of the couch. I showed him the kitten. He came close, told him he was horrible and ran off to hide in the utility room. Maxie was a little easier, he just hissed once and backed off. I held Simon for a while, but he wanted DOWN to explore. Everywhere he went, he had a big black and white shadow. If Simon turned around, Max would hiss or just back off. Maxie laid down, and Simon went over, rubbed his body on Max and laid down with him. Maxie just looked at me like, "MOM!!!". I gave Simon his spider and he had a cat fit with it! Then Maxie decided it looked like a good toy, and everything else in the house was his, so he laid down on it. All the time, Scooter is still hiding in the utility room. Simon went to talk to him once or twice, but Scoots just hissed. He had deigned to come out and join us, and has even walked up close to Simon to hiss at him. I think that is progress. I locked them all in my bedroom last night, and Simon and Max joined me in the bathroom while I soaked in the tub. Max actually washed Simon's face.

Simon spooks easily, but he is basically fearless, he comes back to face whatever scared him. He is in love with Maxie, and Maxie is tolerating him. It won't be long before they bond. Scoots will take a little longer, but when he has one of his cat fits, I think he will find Simon willing to join in. Scoote is a very insecure cat, he has to keep coming to me for petting to make sure I still love him. If I call Simon, Max comes too. Then Maxie had to have his share of loving. Like I said, a 3 ring circus.

Simon has decided he has no time for much loving from me right now, but every now and then he comes for as ear scritch. I just picked up Mcdonalds for dinner, and he shared my french fries. He loves me again, lol. I have a whole day tomorrow with nothing to do, except I think a bath is called for, He found his way behind my dryer and came out with soap on his head. I have no idea where that came from. between that, the antibiotics on his cat bite on his back and the flea meds, he is kinda scraggly. I am working on a few photos, (there has been too much motion for too many). I will post them soon. Thanks for asking.

All right, all right, I admit it is loads of fun and he is such a sweet little guy.

I fondly remember the days of swinging from the curtains. I remember waking up one night and having Dino (then kitten) climbing up the window screen. My husband only seems to have the memories of Dino trying to bite his toes in the middle of the night.

Dino went over the Rainbow Bridge in July. He was 15 years old and very special to say the least. His eyes were crossed and his tail had been broken before I got him as a kitten, so it never grew, but he was a lover and converted quite a few cat haters in his time. Anyone who sat down on our furniture would be greeted by him on their shoulder sooner or later. I definitely miss him.

Life sounds anything but boring for you right now. What fun!! They grow up way too fast (like my granddaughter) -- but yet sometimes not fast enough (not like my granddaughter)! Enjoy him while he's young.
