I have a friend who wants to go to the Atlantis later this month while on a cruise. I told him it costs $29 a person. He called the hotel and no one knows anything about it. Has anyone gone to the Atlantis in the last 6 months? Where do you buy the day pass? Comfort suites now has a 3 day stay require. Any other tips?

I have..... you get the "dig tour " for 29.00 there is no day pass.... you can not use the pools beach or slides... you can dine in their resutarants though.... you should call and see what it would cost to book a a room for one day ,,, also the hotel next door to the atlantis has cheaper rates, and you get use of their facilities, such as pools

Frank,

I'll be in Nassau (7am-midnight) in June and have already booked at room at Comfort Inn a couple of weeks ago!! NOTHING (at that time) was mentioned about a 3 night requirement!! This must be something new!! I had better print out my email confirmation to take with me to ensure no hassles etc at checkin!!!

Please let me know how this all turns out!!

In August of '03 my wife and our friends did the Majesty cruise out of Miami. One of the ports was Nasau. We took a taxi to Paradise Island and asked the driver to drop us off at the beach a little ways down from the Atlantis Resort. We were able to walk down the beach and enter the resort from the beach without any fee. We did all of the sightseeing aroung the pools, etc. but you can't enter the pools without a wrist ban. I would suggest that you should do this as early as possible if you choose to. In my opinion the resort is nice but is certainly not worth the price that they charge just to walk around on the grounds.

I agree with the last post...Just back from our Cruise. My mother raved about Atlantis...What a waste of time. We were all bored, not to mention the exorbitant prices just to look around plus $4.50 for a 10oz bottled water..a rip off. I've been to resorts that are just as nice as well as wonderful aquariums.
Go to a great beach, snorkle, horseback ride swim with the sting rays, shop down town....

The $29 is to see the "dig", the big underground aquarium. You don't have to do that. The rest of the resort, including many other aquariums, is free for anybody to walk around.

The aquarium is worth seeing, although I wouldn't pay $29. WHen we were there a couple of years ago, we walked right in and no-one asked us for tickets, so it cost us nothing. Don't know if that was a fluke, but it may be worth just snooping around if you're there anyway.
