Donna,

Very nice. It's always nice to see people honoring our military.

Karen and I meet the troop planes going to Iraq and the ones returning as they pass through the airport here at Portsmouth. We met one Sunday morning at 5:45AM and will meet another going over at 9:30 tonight. Tonight's plane will be the 122 plane our group has met. We cheer them as they get off the plane and chat with them over coffee, donuts, soft drinks, water and cookies while their plane is being refueled. We have a telephone room with 16 telephones with free longdistance for them and shavng gear, toothburshes, etc. in the restrooms. Then it's handshakes and hugs as they get back on the plane to either go home or head overseas. It's gets very emotional for some, both the troops and the greeters. I wouldn't miss it for the world.

What a wonderful thing to do Bibb! I'm sure that means so much to them. I wish more people were like you! I would love to be able to be at the airport when Tim comes home, but they go through Atlanta, I live in Wisconsin and they can never give you exact dates - so getting there would be a problem.

Donna,

Let's hope that, wherever they first touch U.S. soil, there will be a group there to greet them. Who knows, maybe they will stop in here. If they do, I promise you they will get a great "welcome home" greeting.
