Am trying to decide which ruins tour to take my family of first-time-cruisers on.... this is one of my options (from Costa Maya), but I know nothing about it. Any one been on it? How does it compare to the Tulum or Chachhoben ruins (if you know)? Is there a lot of rough walking?

Edited to add: I have actually been to Tulum and Chacchoben, which is why I am asking if any of you are able to compare either of those 2 with Kohunlich. Im trying to choose between taking them to one I have already been to and really enjoyed, or trying something I've never done, and hope for the best. I will have 2 older ladies in my group, and Im thinking something like Tulum might be just a bit too much.

I have not been to Chachhoben, but have been told that there are more excavated buildings at Kohunlich. We visited Kohunlich on a Celebrity excursion last year and really enjoyed it. We had an excellent guide. You don't have to climb all the ruins. Most of the walking is over grass. We also have enjoyed Tulum which covers a greater area and had the beautiful setting on the beach. Kohunlich is in a jungle - the trip there is thru marsh land and poor villages.
