I went on 10-5-1989, we had one night that was really rough (tail end of a hurricane).
It didn't bother me at all, I had fun with it. The first day and last day at sea are Chilly, the other days have absolutely wonderful weather.
In fact, our next cruise is 10-5-2003 on the Carnival Pride I can't wait.
Last year we were cruising in the gulf the week of 9/22 -9/29. We had several bad days on the water. The shore days were excellent. We were traveling the week when there were 2 hurricane's in the gulf. We used the patch and had a good time, but many people were sick, and the dancing was rough due to the high waves and the high winds. They shut down the top deck to walking and the swimming pools were shut down for a while also. The night before we went to cozumel we had a bad thunderstorm, but it was beautiful by the time we left the ship for a shore excursions.
There were a lott of ships that week that didn't make all the destinations.
We are going this year in the gulf the week of 10/4. So we have no problems traveling then, you just have to go with the waves.
We went on a cruise there Sept 30 2001. The weather was great over all. There was one stormy night but that was not bad. It was just a regular thunderstorm the ship just went around it so no prob there.. As to would we go again during this time of year..... How about Aug 31 2003 is when we leave for our next cruise. So yes we do not worry about it. There are always other ports to go to if the Captan decideds the weather is to bad.
