There's lots to do in St. Lucia--snorkeling, biking/hiking the rain forest/ sailboat excursions and the ever  trusty cab/bus tour.  St. L is one of my favorite islands in the Carib. It's lush and mysterious with those two volcanoes rising from one end of the island. It's been awhile since we've had a cruise that included this beautiful island on its itinerary, but I remember roads that are twisty and bumpy!  Your travel time to an excursion point depends on where your ship will dock--I seem to recall there are two possible ports in St. L.  Your best bet for figuring out what you'll want to do is to see what the cruise line offers and compare that with other offers. One place to search from is www.shoretrips.com/.  The frustrating thing is that none of these will tell you what you want to know, namely how far from the ship will you have to travel. Maybe other posters can help. You could always try contacting the ship's shore excursion office.
