Does anyone have tips for a good carnival cruise? I will be on the Carnival Valor on 12-16-2007, just wondering if anyone has any good tips for a good trip. Thanks

For Carnival I highly recommend being carefree and participating in as many activities as possible. The more plastic ships on a stick you win the more you have to brag about yourself at home! :)D

Just remember you are on a cruise and waited along time for this so don't let anything spoil it!

Don't worry about the small stuff. No land or cruise vacation is going to be perfect. Just laugh things off and relax!!!!!!!!

You'll have a blast. I have never been on Valor but have been on TONS of Carnival ships (see my signature!) CCL is our favorite! We are "jumping ship" (no pun intended) in 3 weeks to go on Princess because it's a repo cruise and we are right near Brooklyn and it's a no brainer for us, but going right back on CCL in Feb. Do you have any specific questions? Not sure if Valor has the deli, but if so, be sure to go there for lunch. Very good sandwiches. And bring $1 bills for tips. Have a great cruise! =sailor

Just wondering if someone could tell me if you are alowed to bring soda on board from home? Like if it is shut and put in your suit case. I have read some places that you can like one 12 pack per person? Just wanted some imput on that. Thanks

I always hid 6 packs of soda in my carry-on, I never had a problem so I say go for it!

We just returned from a Carnival cruise & we sent a 12 pack of cans & a 6 pack of bottles up with(not inside of) our luggage. I would suggest just carrying it up with you, the carton was wet & a couple of the cans "damaged" but I ended up with 11 of them.

Any tips on Progreso Yucatan? Is it easy to get around(walking/taxi)? Any tips to make it fun for the whole family(6)? We are on the Ecstacy on 12/10/07.2nd cruise(Rhapsody of The Sea-Oct.2006).

Hello Jamb,

It depends on the age of the "family". If you're talking about children, the the one tip I always offer is to be sure you and the kids attend the children's orientation/welcome aboard meeting in the chidren's area on the first day the of the cruise. Missing this is the equivalent to missing the first day of school,

There is a lot of information to gather that day, and the childrenn start to make friends and bond. I heard one person say that taking their kids there for the first time, a few days into the cruise, left them feeling a little out of the loop, and the kids a bit like the new kid in class.
