Dear All:

I was on the 7/18/04 RCCL from NYC to Bermuda. Our ship diverted its' route to avoid a direct hit from the storm. Nevertheless, our dining rooms were somewhat empty too.

Was anybody on board?

Hi
had read the reports from the Bermuda Gazette... We are sailing in 10 days on the Crown. How was the cruise experience overall? Any thing future cruisers would like to know?
Sounded like all the ships that week got hit, esp. Celebrity from NYC.

Dear Chris:

My family and I were first time cruisers. I was on the Royal Caribbean - Empress of the Seas. Our Captain diverted from the regular route to avoid as much of the storm as possible. Our friend, who went to a returning cruiser party heard this from the crew. All we could see out the window was white caps on the waves

I was advised to take Dramamine 1 hr before the departure, which I did. I also took bottles of ginger ale in my carry on bag. I saw a room service waiter bring a plate full of saltines to a room. We were startled to hear the plastic dishes and cups come crashing to the floor in the buffet dining area.

Overall, I would rate my first cruise experience an 8 out of 10. It is the only way to travel to Bermuda from NYC.

If you are going to Bermuda - hit Horseshoe Bay Beach. It is awesome

If the RCCL Empress of the Seas started to go north, I would have led the mutiny (Only
kidding). Obviously, the safety of the passengers and crew comes first and foremost.

I would eventually like to see New England/Canada/Nova Scotia, but in the fall months

Bermuda was indeed beautiful, and I hope to return to the islands in the future.
