Anyone been to Creek Street in Ketchikan?

If so, how far of a walk is it from where the ships dock? I've cruised to AK twice but never ventured past the shops in Ketchikan.

Thanks in advance for you help.

creek street is very easy to find. just get off the ship and go past the tourist center on the main street where the shops are towards your right. after a few blocks you will see creek street. it is a nice boardwalk with unique shops and you can see the fish in the creek when you look down. some passengers rent fishing gear at one of them and fish off the bridge. have fun.

I suggest taking the funicular from Creek Street up to the hotel above town and then walk the married man's trail back down.

As mentioned above, Creek Street is a very short walk from the ships. I'm surprised you didn't see it.

We've gone in August and the salmon were jumping up the ladder which is exciting to see as well while at Creek street.

We didn't get adventurous because I had my elderly parents with me and they can't walk far at all. They didn't want to do much but poke around in some shops and then get back on the ship. This time my cousin and her husband are traveling with us and we want to do a little more walking around. I would like to see Creek Street. And the funicular too.

My parents are going with us but have said they will just stay on the ship this time.

Thanks for your input!

I think your parents might really enjoy taking the Horse Drawn Trolley tour. It takes you through the historic part of town - and is only 45 minutes. They stop at Creek Street to take pictures and to give you a fairly lively explanation of this part of town. There is no walking involved; the trolleys pick you up on the dock. (Hopefully, your ship will be tied up to the dock near Visitor's Bureau. )

The funicular (tram) takes you from the upper end of Creek Street to the Cape Fox Lodge where you can take pictures of the ships at the dock. You must pay a little to go up the tram, but pay nothing to return to Creek Street.

Tickets are sold both on the ship and on the dock.
