My sister in law just returned from an 8 day (Dec 15th) Mexican Riviera cruise. They had three rooms and about 10 people. Half got sick the day they returned home. G.I. problems. Anyone else?

Hi Frank. Did some of them eat food or drinks in their final Mexican ports? Sometimes it takes a day or two for the bacteria to build up in their tummys. Sometimes some creamy dairy foods are left out too long in the buffets of ships. Salad dressings can also go bad sitting out too long in a buffet.
I got sick two years ago on a different cruise ship and I only ate the food and drinks on the ship. I tried to be real careful. But I got sick just one day after I was home.
I have decided to drink pepto bismol to protect my stomach linning on my next cruise which is the NCL Star. I have been on it before in Hawaii and didn't get ill.
I am germ phobic and Mexico has germs that don't agree with me. Even in America I get ill from germs from some restaurants. I have a very sensitive stomach.
My stupid sister drank a Margarita in Matzatclan that has the worse drinking water. I warned her to only drink bottled beer, wine or sodas. She came back to the ship all happy that she drank a great Margarita at a hotel.
By the second day she became seriously ill and had to see the ship's doctor. It ruinned her final two days on the ship. My sister is hard headed and she drank a Margarita in Mex ports on her second cruise but she didn't get ill. She was lucky.
I know for a fact that lots of Americans have a great time eating and drinking in Mexico and never get ill. But I also know that some people have gotten seriously ill too.
