I will be on the cruise solo as well - but am attending a church conference with a group of people from the Orlando area. I went on a cruise earlier this year (April) with Royal Caribbean to Cozumel. It was AWESOME. Basically, my advice is to just sit back and enjoy yourself. They have lots of on-board activities where you can meet people. Everyone is pretty open and willing to talk and find out more about you. They will put an itinerary in your room every day so that you know what is going on. Just go to the events that interest you and you will for sure meet others. Also, if you go to the dinners instead of the buffet, you get to meet your random dinner people that they place you with. You will eat with them the rest of the trip - unless you can absolutely not stand them, then you can ask to be moved. But, if you do sit with them, you will have plenty of time to get to know them pretty well. I still email my dinner companions from my last trip. At the buffet, you can ask someone to sit with you..it is all fun and pretty much expected for the most part unless they have family. Perhaps we will run into each other on the trip. Good luck!
