DH would like a new video camera for Christmas. I had been doing some research and shopping around, and came to the conclusion that we wanted to go with a hard drive instead of messing with tapes, etc. I went to a local store that has a great reputation (we've bought several things there over the years) and he tells me that they do not sell the ones with the hard disk because they are hard to use.
He told me that you can't go back and just start taping again from any spot on the disk, and that it is impossible to fix "mistakes" like if you leave the camera on.
Do any of you have a camera with a hard disk? What is your feeling on it. Do you ever wish you had one with the mini tapes instead? I guess my feeling is that I don't see the point in trading my 8 mm tapes for mini tapes, even if the camera itself is much smaller.
Any insight??????
