Hi, We were just on the Caribbean Princess last week - yes, the ship is beautiful,
the food is very good, the service is excellent, the entertainment is excellent but with
the extra deck of cabins there are way too many people on this ship. IT IS VERY
CROWDED. Yes, they only added one more deck of cabins but not anymore space
in the other areas where everyone gathers, i.e. the dining rooms, pools, theatre, etc.
On sea days you can't even get into the pool-way too many people, the hoarding of
deck chairs is outrageous (when we needed them we just watched and if any were
vacant over 45 min. we took them). No one ever gave us any argument. If you don't
have traditional dining you can only get reservations at 5:30, 7 or 8:30 PM in the PC
dining rooms. If you show up without one the maitre d's hair will stand on end and
you may have to wait 15 to 20 min. Amazingly enough when you finally get in and
look around you will see many empty tables, because of all the people who had
reservations and never showed up. Again, way too many people. If you want to go to
the Princess Theatre, I suggest that you get there at least 30 min in advance to get a
good seat. As many times as it is announced that no seat saving is allowed, you will
find people saving 6-8 seats in a row. The ship is really great but as you will see it
is extremely crowded. That was our only complaint with it.
