Hi and Welcome..
I would like to recommend that you go to our cruise tracker (Just up above in the top yellow banner) and put your cruise in there. You may get lucky and find someone.

This forum is where you should ask any questions of former Celebrity cruiser's ...we may have answers for you and if not likely will be able to find out from somewhere or guide you to some place/one that does...

I'm off to the Solstice next month and several others are going very shortly so I'm sure we will hear from them when they return.

Enjoy your planning.

No, we have never sailed before period. This is our first cruise. We will be in cabin 1014 and cannot wait. There are so many photos of the ship out there now, it is as if I have already been aboard.
Our reasons for the cruise is tat we wanted a taste of Greece rather than going there for several weeks right off. Also, I love the idea of seeing several places without having to pack and unpack my suitcases. LOL.
We have been to Italy before and love it but somehow in our travels have missed Rome so, after the cruise we will explore Rome.

I am sure you will love the cruise, and as soon as you get back home will want to book another one !! We have sailed three times with Celebrity and we are still going back for more, soooo looking forward to going on the new ship and sailing the Med, we normally sail the Carribbean and Mexico, as we are a lot nearer the Med we thought we would give it ago. I am from England, where are you ?

Hi jpd, I am from Canada, Ottawa actually. I used to do business in England, with Westland Helicopters in Yeovil. I love the southwest of England. I never had an opportunity to go too far from the south but we are planning a trip to the UK that will include driving the length of your beautiful Country. My Wife's heritage comes from Scotland by way of Australia so a visit to Scotland is high on her list of places to visit.

Hi Pete, I am from Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, lived here for about 29yrs !! showing my age now !! We have been to Scotland we went to Edinburgh, a lovely city. Scotland is somewhere we have put on our list of places to visit. We have got some beautiful countrysides, but our holidays seem to be taken up on cruising not that I am complaining ! I see someone has put a posting on this site to say they have just coming back from sailing with Solstice and had a great time, have you seen the pictures on this site of Solstice she looks amazing.

Hi Pete
Do you know about the celebrity connections party ? basically celebrity hold a party for you on your first night for all members who register for this party, there need to be at least ( I think it's 30 people ) then they will give send you an invite. Have a look on the celebrity website and look for connections party. The cruise we are going on has qualified for this party. Hoping to talk to the cruisers who will be there. jpd:wave

Sorry for you all going on her. I went on the inaugural and it was HORRIBLE!
The food was horrible,
The service was horrible.
Consiege level was horrible.
Cabin steward was horrible.
Chairs through are sooooooooooo uncomfortable, especially in the dining room.
Not a lot of areas to sit and enjoy the views. Many bars are cramped and small.
Shops...forget about it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless you have tons and tons of bucks to spend.

I would never recommend this boat to anyone.

Yes Karin, I did read your post. it is difficult no to. You seem to have infiltrated every other post.
Fortunately, you are not my sole source of information for my first cruise or I would be crying profusely for wasting my money . As far as I can determine in all the reviews I have read on a lot of forums and web sites, you are one of the very very few negative persons.
I am sorry for your bad time. Perhaps the moderator can edit your repeated negativity?

Pete, I think everyone is entitled to an opinion. Karin is not the only person who was disappointed on Solstice.

As long as the post isn't rude, and we still have freedom of speech, I think a moderator who "edits" a person's post, would not make this a board of honesty, but propaganda. I find TONS of posts offensive on the CC site. I just ignore them. If people feel stifled and unable to speak freely, you get an "edited" version of the truth.

So Karin:
When did you cruise on Solstice?
Where did you cruise?
What was the problem with the food?
Do you have a specific incident of "horrible"
What other cruise ships are you comparing the Solstice cruise with?

You seems to do a "shotgun" type of review blasting everything -with no backup of substance or content. Inquiring minds what to know before we go!

Truth hurts sometimes and the truth is all I have to offer.
You can choose to read it or not, accept it or not. Your choice.
It just was unline Celebrity that's all. You can read more reviews on www.cruisesonly.com and you will read for yourself what others had to say about the Solicise.
Happy crusing. I leave again May 9th and cant' wait.

Hope your next ship is better Karin. I know sometimes you just don't feel like writing a detailed review of a crappy cruise, you just want to forget it.:( But most people really want to know the details, so they can weigh their own preferences against your own. What might seem horrible to us, may be perfectly acceptable to someone else.

There are also tons of reviews, both in posts and official "reviews" on cruiseaddicts - many were pleased, many were not. First time Xer's seem pleased, long time Xer's seem disappointed. Although I've been been or will be aboard the Solstice Class, the photos I've seen confirm a couple of her complaints - tiny bars and chair issues.

Having been on the Solstice I sure can comment on the bars and chairs. The martini bar is the biggest on any =X= ship I've been on which includes the Zenith to M class. .Other bars on the ship and there were many, also seemed to be of a good size.

Chairs were comfortable to me HOWEVER.. the "Farting"chairs in the martini bar lounge area's didn't add much to the "Classic" cruise experience and after several martini's by some really got a good work out. :D

FARTING chairs?? ::eek:
And here all this time, I blame the dog! :lol
BTW - typo in my post - should have stated "have never been or will be", as I've looked at the Preismans site which is very comprehensive, and other individual websites where people posted their photos, and just wasn't impressed. Guess old habits die hard, and I still think M class is better, purely from an aesthetics point of view, since I haven't been on board Solstice class to experience ambience or food.
