Anytime/Traditional Dining

I read somewhere that Royal Caribbean was experimenting with anytime dining on 3 of its ships. Does anyone know which ships they are. I'm not a fan of the whole anytime, I like to have a set table and waiters so I'm hoping it's not the Explorer of the Seas.

I'm no sure which ships they are speaking about, but i have been on several Princess cruises, and found anytime to be very convenient. Princess does also offer traditional at the same time, which I would guess Royal would also do. It provides more options. If nothing else, you may have the option to try something new.

Not sure off hand which ships are experimenting with anytime concept, but ALL the ships still have the option of traditional dining,so you'll be fine on the EX!

I sure dont like this anytime dining at all!! On the golden princess last dec, i was bounced from one table to the next for the first four nights, cuz nobody showed up at the tables i was at, finally, the fourth night when i went to one of the tables, i was assigned to, nobody showed up, and the maitre'd said, we have tables for families, not single people, he then turn around and left, so i went out to the lobby, and he came out and said, we have a table for you. The people at the table stayed for the last three nights, and i had a better time, oh by the way, i gave bad comments on the commet card, i said the maitre'd stinks and i wont be back. Within 3 days after debarking the golden princess, i made reservations on rccl, for an alaskan cruise in sept. Princess stinks if you ask me.

I dislike anytime dinning, I now on a waiting list for my next cruise of Princess since they have 2 dinning rooms for anytime and just one for traditional , I do have a second sitting for my next RCCL the Independence of the Seas in November. You get much better service with traditional

I do my own anytime dining! :lol After being on many cruises, I no longer enjoy dressing up and going to dinner in the dining room. I take all my meals at the Lido Deck buffet and have been doing this for the past several years. I end up enjoying myself much much more because I can eat when I want to. I go on vacation to comletely relax, and for me, having to dress up and be at a table at a certain time, is not relaxing at all. But as I said, this is just me and I know some people enjoy the dress up thing.

The Serenade of the Seas is one of the ships. I know, I'll be on it soon and I was offered the flexible dining option. I believe Freedom of the Seas is another ship with this option, as I have seen several posts about it. I am not sure of the other ships.

I've read that it is going to go fleet wide on RCL by the end of the year. I personally like Anytime Dining. We are booked for 2nd seating on the Jewel and I am trying to get up the nerve to ditch dinner in the dining room altogether. It is just that my husband really enjoys the whole dining aspect of cruising. I personally don't. :)

Alright so I assume it isn't the Explorer of the Seas since we weren't offered the option of traditional or anytime. Just the option of early or late seating. Let's just hope RCI doesn't pull a NCL and make anytime dining the only option!
