I know this sounds like a really stupid question, but I would like to bring my Sirius satellite radio along on the cruise. Call me crazy, but I like to wake up to Howard. Is there a radio/stereo in the stateroom to transmit to, or am I going to have to bring my own? I have a feeling that they don't have it, but I thought it was worth asking. We are traveling on Carnival Valor. Thanks in advance for any info!! :wave

I leave on the valor on sunday but we fly out tomorrow---I had a small radio on the conquest but there wasn't any on the Glory---I'll let you know on the Valor when I get back on the 19th.

NO... but there are channels for music. However, I suggest you bring your own CD's and small radio to play if you must... because the airwaves are not always available...

Bon Voyage!

I'm told that Sirius Satellite Radio works in the carribean. You don't need airwaves for it. You turn your radio to a station that doesn't have anything coming in and your satellite radio will send the programs to that channel. That's what's great about satellite is that it works everywhere.

I'm not too worried about music. I just want to hear Howard in the mornings when I wake up. I'm addicted! =huh

Oookay... but anyway there are no radios in the stateroom... and think, if you bring a radio, then bring batteries for it... OR bring a power strip because there's only one outlet.

Your radio alarm clock wont work. the ship cant pick up the stations.
No radios in the cabin either.

Serene, thanks for your response, but Satellite radio works in the Caribbean. I'm not interested in listening to free radio. That's the genius of technology. :)P)

Opps, i thought you were talking about a regular clock radio.

Clock will lose a few minutes here and there when plugged into their outlet.

Take a power strip to plug stuff in-- only one outlet in the cabin.

The cabin will have music on the TV but the selection is limited. I have a small walkman sized CD player. I went to Best Buy and bought an AC adaptor for it and a small set of travel speakers that plug in to the headset jack. Your personal computer speakers will usually work for this as well. I suggest a Jimmy Buffet CD or two for your in cabin entertainment. My favorite is "Meet Me in Margaritaville". My mini-entertainment center takes two electrical plugs hence the need for multiple outlets. Plus there's Susan's curling iron, the hair dryer, the charger for our digital camera batteries etc. I could never make do with only one outlet on a cruise. Sat radio sounds like a good idea too. Mine would be set on the reggae channel the whole time.

=funsign on your cruise.

Yes, I'm definately going to have to get an extension cord with plenty more outlets. I also love the Margaritaville song, Michael. Another song I would be playing is the "Do you like Pina Coladas" song. That song is so much fun. Not sure who sings it though.
