Have never been to Aruba and need help. How is the shopping? Also, would love to do some beach time. Does anyone have some suggestions? Thanx

Dawn and Palm are very nice and the shopping is great. The people act like they are glad your there and not just a tourist with some cash they might get their hands on. You will live it.

We stayed in Aruba for 2 weeks and the beaches and shopping are great. The prices were around 50% cheaper than in the UK, may not be so cheap for US visitors. In the UK it is not so common for me to be walking around with Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfigger, Armani and other shopping bags full of goodies especially on each shopping trip.
There are 2 main beaches Eagle Beach and Palm Beach. Eagle Beach (20 mins) is slightly closer to the port than Palm Beach (30 mins). Eagle beach is quieter and very pretty. Palm Beach is commercial, good white sand, boardwalk between beach and the luxury hotels, lots of bars/restaurants to choose from. Thatch umberellas, beds and floats can be hired for $10 per day. The sea was slightly cooler than other caribbean islands we have visited but the water was so turquoise. Water sports of every variety are available.

Loved the shopping in Aruba! I bought tanzanite and blue diamond rings. Lots of really nice pearls and emeralds, too. Have a great time! Take care, Shannon
