Asking for prayers for my 9 year old granddaughter

There was a accident last night while Trick or Treating, and it could have been A LOT worse. The neighborhood kids were riding on a trailer through the neighborhood, and Alyson (my granddaughter) was trying to fix her skirt, and she fell off... Then the trailer tire ran over her leg. She luckily came out of it with no broken bones but she does have 25 stitches on her ankle. My daughter said she had a pretty bad gash, but luckily did not get down to the bone. Her knee is really swollen, buy X-rays showed no broken bones. She rode in a ambulance and my daugher said she was a real big trooper through all of it......however it scared the hell out of my daughter. Aly will have to walk on crutches cause she has a splint on her foot to prevent the stitches from busting open. Alyson LOVED playing softball (she was one of the best on her team) and now her softball days for this season are over. So please say a prayer to lift her spirits and that her leg/ankle heals swiftly and correctly.

Prayers for your grand daughter -- thankfully she was not seriously hurt.

We had a hay ride accident here a couple of weeks ago -- woman fell off -- wheels went over and killed her.

OMG Krazy Kruizers....that is horrible! That is tragic and I know Aly's accident could have been a lot worse.

Here is a picture my daughter took of her leg when they got home from the emergency room. My daughter said Aly never cried during the entire ordeal except when they were cleaning off some of the other scrapes with alcohol. And then she didn't really cry but tears were running down her face and my daughter said you could tell she was trying to hold them back.

Nita - so sorry to read about your Granddaughter, but thank goodness no bones were broken. Her leg looks nasty but I pray for a quick and uneventful recovery.

Yonnie - terrible to read about the accident in your neighborhood a few weeks ago.

My daughter took my granddaughter to her pediatrician this morning and she just sent me these two pictures she took after the doctor unwrapped Aly's leg.

I'm so glad that there were no broken bones, but she sure has some scary looking stitches. I pray that she will heal quickly and think back on this as a really scary story for Halloween.

Oh Nita, I just found this. Oh my gosh, I can't imagine what an experience this was for everyone. She sounds like such a trooper, good job Aly!

What a way to get your foot Frankensteinized for Halloween!

I didn't see this earlier. I'm so sorry your granddaughter had an accident. Years back, DH's nephew fell off a hay wagon and was scalped. It still brings tears to my eyes when I think of it. He was about 13 or so and like your granddaughter, was very calm in the ER. He kept telling his mom he was OK and to not cry. He had hundreds of stitches.

I wish her a speedy recovery. The best advice I can give you is to keep her leg out of the sun as much as possible for the next year or two. They told that to my late SIL and he grew up with very faint scars across his eye and up thru the middle of his forehead.
