we booked our first cruise a year in advance. i was told by t/a that it is an assigned room. she said i won't have a chance for an upgrade. we booked a room w/ a view. i called her and asked if we had a chance for an upgrade to a balcony an she said no, our room is assigned.
we are going on the triumph in jan 10 ..western car...yahoo...
we did just receive a 150..rebate though because the rates came down...i was just wondering if we had a chance for a balcony or something.
thanx

On our first cruise, we booked an assigned cabin. (a cabin we *really* wanted) We found out when we checked in at the port that we had received an upgrade. We didn't want the upgrade and had to "fight" to get our original cabin back....it turns out they had given it to a Carnival employee!!! :worried

So, yes, an upgrade is a possibility, however I think it's more common if you book a guaranteed cabin. And from what I have learned, a travel agent should contact you and ask you if you would like to accept an upgrade before they change your booking. Have a great cruise.....get ready to be hooked!!! :girly
