We booked a one night room at the Day's Inn across the street. We took a cab there, checked in and were given bracelets which are required for the pools and slides at Atlantis. Funny, they asked us if we wanted our room key..they knew we were there for Atlantis only! I believe the rate for the room was around $100 - $120. Divide that by our party of 3 and we pay more to go to Six Flags for the day!
Atlantis has at least 3 pools; (they may have more but this is what we saw) one that we liked you walk right in...lovely! There are about 5 slides...one is a fast drop into the shark pool..one is a rubber raft (looks like a donut...haven't had enough coffe to remember what they are called!) race slide and the one I really liked is the rubber "donut" that twists and turns, mostly in a dark tube where you cant see where you are going! It was so much fun, I did that one several times...and I am NOT a water ride person! HINT: NO Jewlery at all is allowed on the slides. No rings, no earrings,no necklaces...leave it in the safe on the ship!.
The lazy pool was wonderful...gets a bit crowded in the pm, but still a lot of fun. They have lots of beach area which is beautiful. Food...well it can be pricey if you do a sit down lunch, but we shared 2 big burgers and 2 fries for $14. Not bad.
It was a great day, very relaxing once you are there. The digs are a great way to cool off and the fish are some of the biggest I have ever seen! Watch out for the giant Stingray!!
Also; they were in the process of building more when we were there..so they may have more to do by now! Our day there was one of the best we have had in the Bahamas. The time before we stayed on the ship 'cause we had 'been there, done that'.
Hope this helps!!b Have fun whatever you choose to do!
